So I thought I would write a quick blog to let people know whats hot and whats not over the next few days.
Getting into the show is really strict you need ID, membership to Namm and of course a ticket so after waiting in line for 30 minutes we finally get into the show. My first port of call has to be Craviotto drums and Ronn Dunnett these guys know how to make drums in my opinion they are the finest musical instrument there is, don’t get me wrong there are lots of great drums to talk about but for me I’m like a kid in a sweet shop, I would have bought everything on both stands if I could have. I did manage to buy some of the new Craviotto snare drums number 20 of 50
check them out here and 6 of Ronn
Dunnett fantastic snare drums.
After moving around the the booths I seen the usual crazy and cool stuff such as an bubble shaped drum kit (more information to follow), Mapex drums in the USA only have come up with a USA customer shop which is really cool but not available to us guys in the UK…..Yet!!!
Istanbul cymbals were as ever fantastic with some great new sounds from the Alchemy range and the new ART20 series.
My biggest purchase today was Meinl cymbals after meeting with Lee Worsley and Paul Hagen from
Active Music Distribution these guys have some great brands within their company Ludwig being one of them which I will be talking to them about tomorrow.
I think one of the best drum kits which impressed me today had to be the Mapex Retrosonic, this kit is extremely nice, more info to follow after tomorrow.
Ahead from Big Bang Distribution and BR Distribution are also another favourite of Drum Shop UK having nailed it with there line of great Drum Cases, Armor Ahead….fantastic.
So much to talk about and so much more to see I will start to put some more information about the products when we see them again over the next few days….
Thanks for reading
