Hi guys, and welcome to my new weekly blog. I just thought I’d pop in quickly to say hi and would like to thank Andy and all at DSUK for welcoming me on-board. I’m really looking forward to writing these blogs each week on what ever may be thrown my way, whether it be a different gig that I have done, a new piece of gear I’ve been testing, a gig I’ve seen or anything that you would like me to blog about (as long as its drum related!!).
As Andy mentioned yesterday in his blog, I am passionate about all things drums, I just love em me! I play in many bands as a session musician, recording, gigging etc… covering whatever styles are required from Rock, Funk, Jazz to House music and everything in-between. I also love to teach and see pupils develop into great players, and I’m currently growing a moustache for Movember (prostate cancer charity) so I look a bit odd at the moment!!! (pic from last years Movember)
Throughout these blogs I hope to pass on any help, advice and opinion on anything that I can. If there is something that you would like me to cover or review then please feel free to get in touch through my website www.carlthomson.com (the more the merrier) and if I don’t know about it I’ll find out.
My first blog (apart from this one) will be about the famous Ludwig 400 snare drum that I’ve been testing. Beautiful drum!!! (whoops was that the review done!?) Anyway I’ll stop waffling on!!
I’m very excited to be apart of the team once again, and looking forward to what I must say is going to be possibly the best drum shop in the world!! We don’t realise what we have on our own door step, and how much everyone at DSUK does, that other drum shops don’t!!
All the best
Carl
