It has been announced that Steve White is now head of education for British drum makers, Premier, and we’re excited to tell you that Steve will be attending our Premier drum day on the 31st May 2014 at Drumshop UK! (There’s even an opportunity to play along side Steve – Keep reading for more information!)
Steve became a professional drummer at the age of 17 and has played with a number of iconic British artists over the years including Paul Weller, The Who, Oasis and more. Everyone is excited to see Steve return to Premier after originally playing Premier drums and also assisting with the development of Premier’s Modern Classic snare drums and Elite series.
Being head of Premier’s new education programme, Steve will be partnering with key teachers and organisations, developing online tuition aids, plus support for charitable and community projects.
“It is both an honour and a privilege to be asked to be part of the new team that are now running Premier,” White commented. “As a musician, I have always strived for progress and improvement, this new opportunity enables me to push and challenge myself in a way that has filled me with enthusiasm and excitement for the future.”
On leaving his previous position at Mapex to join Premier, he added: “I would also like to say a massive thank you to my friends at Mapex for the years we have worked together. I wish them the very best for the future. As for me, I am raring to go and glad to be home.”
Steve will be in store here at Drumshop UK this Saturday 31st May 2014 for the Premier drum day, and you could have the chance to jam with him! If you play guitar, bring it along with you on Saturday! You never know…
But first, call us on 0191 418 7113 to reserve your ticket. If you’re not on our ticket list you will not get in!
