I have been asked to pick a brand to research and I have chosen Yamaha. I decided to research Yamaha because it is definitely one of my favourites and I love all of their drum kits. I looked into the history of the brand and found out some interesting things. Yamaha was founded in Japan in 1967 which was 48 years ago! The first models were made at Yamaha’s factory in Hamamatsu, Japan. Right now, Yamaha has 3 factories that are situated in Osaka, China and Indonesia.
Yamaha is a famous company that makes instruments and here at Drumshop, we are all very big fans! Yamaha produces drum kits for all skill levels ranging from beginners to professional drummers. The current series’ are Absolute Hybrid Maple, Live Custom and Gigmaker! Luckily for you, we have them all online!
Some drummers that currently play Yamaha drums are Matt Cameron, Steve Gadd, Veronica Bellino, Akira Jimbo, Dave Weckl, Matt Goom and Larry Mullen Jr from U2. Chris Johnson who plays for Rihanna and has previously played for Stevie Wonder is an endorser at Yamaha. He also had a drum clinic here at Drumshop in 2013.
Yamaha has produced many famous and loved drum kits over the years and is a very popular company. The popular Stage Custom series was produced in 1996. It featured 100% birch shells along with a high-gloss lacquer finish. Although the series has been discontinued, we have the Yamaha Stage Custom Standard 10” x 9” Birch Tom and the Yamaha Stage Custom Standard 14” x 12” Birch Tom in store and online!
We also have a pre-loved Yamaha Recording Custom Solid Black 9000 Series Shell Pack and the Yamaha Recording Custom 9000 Series 15” x 12” Tom in Solid Black which would both make a fantastic kit together!
Another pre-loved drum kit that we have is the Yamaha Club Jordan Cocktail Drum Kit in Champagne Sparkle. This cocktail drum kit was produced by Steve Jordan and has birch and mahogany shells. The Yamaha Club Jordan drum kit is really compact and give a retro look and vibe. I wrote blog all about the Yamaha Club Jordan drum kit, check it out! http://www.drumshop.co.uk/blogs/news/34781700-yamaha-club-jordan-cocktail-drum-kit
The Recording Custom 9000 series has been discontinued but we have one, brand new Yamaha Recording Custom 9000 Series 5-Piece in Antique Sunburst. Featuring 100% birch shells along with a well-defined sound. This Yamaha 9000 series drum kit is one of the only two kits in the entire world so if you want it, you better grab it now.
Last but certainly not least, the Gigmaker series come in super cool glitter finished colours, you’d be the star of any show with one of these fabulous kits. Including a 5-piece hardware pack, a drum throne and a 3-piece cymbal pack. The Gigmaker drum kits are extremely durable whist looking the part and sounding great.
