Last weekend was a wild one for me as I've been to the Untold Festival that took place in the very heart of Transylvania, in "the best city you never heard of", which is called Cluj-Napoca. There were 4 days of writing history, as it was the first edition of this festival. In these 4 days the Untold story of the Romanian Fairy Tales that took over Cluj-Napoca was written. The main city areas have been changed into mythical realms: The River, The Mountain, The Citadel, The Forest and The Pool. Each realm had its own story, and have been under the protection of a fantasy character. The realms were actually the stages, 8 in total from which The Arena was the main stage with lots of well known names from the musical industry. There were thousands of people each night. To be more precise: 1st night - 55.000, 2nd night - 60.000, 3rd night - 65.000, 4th night - 65.000 as you can see in the picture below.
You probably ask yourself: "But why is it called Untold Festival?". Well, it all started in the autumn of 2014, when everyone was going crazy about this new festival, with really cheap tickets, but you didn't knew what artists are coming, so it was a bit risky. The first two artists (David Guetta & Avicii) were announced on New Year's Eve. Now you can imagine the excitement of those who bought tickets for just 20 pounds. After that, there were "waves" of announcements, and after each "wave" the price got higher.
Now, as I said, there was a large number of artists, some of which are very popular and some of them less popular but still awesome, as we had the chance to discover new favourites. The line-up looked something like this:
One of my favourites was Tom Odell, he gave us an outstanding performance and goosebumps every 5 seconds. He got on stage with his own band, his drummer played a Mapex 5-pice Drum Kit and it gave a really awesome demonstration at the end of the show. I also liked Armin van Buuren, who stayed on the stage one extra hour and he cried at the end (goosebumps, and goosebumps again), there was John Newman who was super-duper awesome and did and amazing show, oh and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike totally killed it in the first night, they had an amazing show. Below, you can see a teaser video of what happened at Untold Festival.
