Its been a while since I wrote a blog but its definitely something I enjoy when I manage to get the time out of my busy schedule...
So I thought why not write a short blog on the Yamaha Maple Custom Hybrid drum kits when I received a nice email from an old customer. A customer called Ben Grant who has been a regular drum Shop UK customer for many many years decided to look at a new drum kit. I was unaware what Ben had actually been in the shop to look at and I was advised that he had purchased a lovely Yamaha Maple Custom Hybrid in a stunning sparkle finish and I received the following email.
I have been a regular customer at the Drum Shop, my first purchase there been a used Ludwig 400 when it first opened in 1993. The reasons I keep coming are firstly, the fantastic service you get from the staff and secondly the great range of drums and accessories. I was in the market for a new kit, in jazz sizes as I play in two jazz outfits.
I had seen the Yamaha Absolute Hybrid Maple Custom in the shop as it stood out in it shimmering orange sparkle. I did some research on kit and there was some criticism on the forums that it was made in China, this is the country that developed paper, ice cream, pasta, gun powder and the magnetic compass as well as a wide range of foods and art!
I had the opportunity to demo the Yamaha, absolutely fantastic sound, looks great and has that robust Yamaha build. I dealt with Paul who organised the sale for me, again someone who knows his stuff and a great person to deal with. I now have the kit in my possession and would like to say thank you to the Drum Shop and in particular Paul for another effortless purchase! I have attached a couple of photos of the kit set up in my house.
We do get many review which we simply don't have the time to write or shout about, most customers may not realise but the review sites are what shops pay for and these can be very mis-leading and give the customer the good reviews and not the bad, so its always good we think to be as honest as possible and let the customers talk. Anyway I am starting the waffle on a bit....
Back to the Yamaha Hybrid drum kits as written in Ben's email to us he states that he had done his research, this drum kit is without doubt one of the best build kits made by Yamaha in its class. Many artists are now moving to Yamaha joining big names such as Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl and of course Vinnie Colaiuta
Being a Yamaha drums fan myself from one of my first drum kits was a Yamaha 9000 series in Mirror Chrome which I paid £350.00 in 1986 a birch kit covered in mirror chrome which was a nightmare to keep clean but I must admit I spent many hours cleaning this drum kit my pride and joy so 30 years on I'm still excited to see all the new kits from Yamaha. I was lucky enough to be asked by Yamaha 2 years ago to try out the Yamaha Maple Custom Hybrid when it was a guarded secret and I had to sign a non-disclosure contract....oh I was very excited and boy did I feel important. Yes three years in the making for this wonderful drum kit so its well worth giving us a call and checking them out.
Here's just a few which we have available.
