Huge congratulations goes out to our good friends at Istanbul Mehmet for winning the best cymbal series award for the Tony Williams Trubute Cymbal set at this years Drummies awards as voted by the readers of Drum! Magazine!
Going against some tough nominees, the Istanbul Tony Williams series shone through the rest and took the award.
Drum! Magazine says:
"It’s hard to remember another instance in which a company went to such extremes to reproduce a sound. But when Istanbul Mehmet decided to duplicate the cymbals played by the late Tony Williams with the Miles Davis Quintet, the Turkish cymbal smith cut no corners to achieve unparalleled authenticity."
