New Ludwig Classic Maple Black Sparkle Drum KitAbout Ludwig
Ludwig Drums is a US manufacturer of percussion instruments, established in 1909 by William F. & Theobald Ludwig, sons of a German immigrant to the United States. William Jr. had been a professional drummer, playing with circuses and touring vaudeville shows, he and his brother, Theobald, opened a drum shop in Chicago; they called it Ludwig & Ludwig. The brand achieved significant popularity in the 1960s due to the endorsement of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.
Drum Shells
Ludwig's Classic Maple series features a 7-ply cross-laminated North American Maple shell that has the ability to reach sounds of high sensitivity and offers a wide dynamic tuning range and a definitive attack. The maple base is ideal for live performance settings whilst being versatile enough to adapt to different playing styles and settings.
Bearing Edges
Each classic maple series drum kit is fitted with hand-sanded 45-degree bearing edge. Hand-sanding ensures the edges are smooth, even and flat surface for easy head seating.
A.T.L.A.S Tom Mount
The Tom mount included in this kit is Ludwig's A.T.L.A.S Tom mount, the only Integrated Lug Suspension System and Mounting Bracket in the world. The A.T.L.A.S. (Ariel Tom Lug Attached Suspension) creates a mounting location anywhere on the drum - with no drilling required! It simply attaches to the drum by replacing one of the lugs.
