Calling all young drummers and Drumstars aged between 13 -18 years old, this is your chance to shine and show the UK what you're made of and your epic drumming skills. Yamaha Drums are excited to invite entries for 2018's #FUTUREBEAT competition and with eight regional finals taking place across the UK, we are extremely proud that the North East leg of the regional finals is being held at our humble Drum Shop.
#FUTUREBEAT is a fantastic opportunity for young drummers in the UK to showcase their drumming talents and provides young drummers with opportunities that will ensure their drumming debut goes off with a bang! The ground-breaking national competition is now in it's third successive year and has made it's mark on the drumming industry with it being penned as 'the event that will uncover the drum stars of tomorrow.'
#FUTUREBEAT has become highly acclaimed by drummers and the drum industry which has previously attracted over 500 entries, showcasing over 100 of the UK’s most talented young drummers in Live Regional performances. Partnered by Yamaha Drum Dealers throughout the UK with support by Professional Drum Artists Steve White (Style Council, Paul Weller, The Who), Troy Miller (Amy Winehouse, Laura Mvula), Donavan Hepburn (Take That, E.L.O) & Andrew Small (Kylie, Massive Attack) who have all previously dedicated their time to support up and coming drummers with private mentoring sessions.
To get involved all you need to do is:
After all your #FUTUREBEAT entries have been received, eight regional finalists will be selected by the judges and invited to battle it out at the Regional Final held at Drum Shop. Only one regional finalist will be selected to go through to the grand final and we know there's a young drummer out there who is going to go all the way and win it for us!
The #FUTUREBEAT 2018 will take place at Yamaha Headquarters in Milton Keynes on Saturday 20th October. Once the Grand Finalists have been selected they will receive mentoring sessions with some of the country’s leading professional drummers ahead of the Grand Final and will have the chance to perform with a professional band, in front of a respected judging panel who will decide the overall #FUTUREBEAT 2018 winner.
When you enter the #FUTUREBEAT 2018 competition there is so much worth playing for, below are a list of some of the epic drum prizes on offer:
