As you guys know we love getting fresh and exciting talent into Drum Shop but there's so much to be said about the drummers that have worked tirelessly from the ground up to make their way and success in this crazy drumming industry. One of those incredible drumming talents is the fantastic Gabor Dornyei, a prolific session drummer, clinician, educator and instructor, Gabor is undoubtedly one of the most in demand drummers to have broken out of Europe in recent years and has definitely earned that status.
With that being said we are beyond thrilled to welcome the diverse Gabor to Drum Shop on Thursday 8th November 2018 for his '30 Years of Drumming Tour' drum clinic and masterclass where Gabor will kindly impart his wealth of drumming knowledge onto us! Gabor will be visiting us ahead of his Main Stage Solo Performance at the London Drum Show this year and this is one epic chance to talk to the man of the moment right before his London Drum Show appearance! Originally from Hungary, but now based in London it's safe to say that Gabor Dornyei is a versatile drummer who has racked up achievements left, right and centre and deservedly so too. From humble Hungarian beginnings, Gabor worked as the drummer of the Hungarian National Radio's Big-Band as well as winning the Hungarian "Drummer of the Year" award. Moving through his career Gabor has played in studio sessions for Walt Disney Co. and has over 18 years expertise in musical theatres, with credits including: Fame, Rent, Jekyll and Hyde, Cabaret, Chicago, Thriller Live, We Will Rock You, to name but a few. Fast forward to 2018 and in more recent news he is currently gigging with jazz guitarist Stanley Jordan as well as working tirelessly in his London teaching studio, Gabbey Road Studio.
Gabor's obvious determination has propelled him to first call status and his wealth of achievements really do reflect this. Not only is Gabor seriously respected by fellow drummers and industry professionals alike he is also a worldwide endorser of some of the leading drum brands including:
