By offering two different surfaces, the beater allows you to pick and choose without having to buy another beater or have the hassle of removing the beater with a drum key to then endure the tiresome job of installing the other one!
FeltBeing the most popular type of beater material, felt offers just the right amount of definition, moderate attack and a deep thud with more rebound and stroke definition. Felt beaters deliver sounds that fit best with rock, pop, R&B, country or any style that has a moderate volume, not too loud but not too quiet. This is because felt tones focus strongly on the midrange whilst still giving you a punchy bass drum sound.
PlasticAnother high in demand beater, plastic's sound is very defined. Plastic allows your bass drum to be heard loud and clear, giving it a bright cutting sound with incredible stroke definition.
The quick flip feature allows you to easily and quickly switch between the beater head surfaces, allowing you to change things up within your performance. To swap the beater from one to the other all you have to do is simply push down on the beater and rotate it to the desired playing surface.
