Alesis have designed and developed a series of electronic drum kits which are guaranteed to change the way you look at electronic drum kits for the better, shaking off any pre-conceived notions you may have had. The Strike Series consists of two electronic drum kits, the Strike Zone Electronic Drum Kit with Mesh Heads and the Strike Pro Electronic Drum Kit with Mesh Heads.
Alesis dedicated majority of their focus around two points when designing and developing the Strike Zone and Strike pro electronic drum kits; to make an electronic kit finally actually feel like a real acoustic drum set and to provide drummers with the most powerful kit yet in terms of versatility and cohesion.
When playing the kits, you can feel the familiarity of acoustic drums due to the standard acoustic drums sizes and the incredible response time that the kits are able to produce. They also feature sensitivity adjustment knobs, so you can tailor the experience to your own style and allow you to play to the best of your ability at all times.
Both of the kits in the Alesis Strike Series come equipped with a performance drum module which adds an element of speciality to the electronic drum kits. The module offers 200 drum kits and over 1600 multi-sampled instruments all at your disposal, to use how you see best. Every module also includes a 4.3" full colour LED display with on-board sampling through SD Card storage and USB or MIDI connectivity. This is ideal for a studio setting, you get the whole range of drum samples that you could ever use all in one place, and for a drastically reduced price.
This table shows the configuration of both the Strike Zone kit and the Strike Pro kit, you can see the differences in what you gain when upgrading to the Pro Series.
As you can see from the table, the Strike Pro Kit comes equipped with two extra 14" dual-zone crash cymbals, a 14" dual-zone tom pad and a 14" dual-zone snare drum pad.
Both the Strike Zone and the Strike Pro kits arrive with these items in the box :
One of the main concerns that drummers have with moving to electronic drum kits is the price, you'll often find that leading Electronic Drum Kit brands will charge in the area of around £7,000 for a full set up. The Strike Pro Series kit comes in at an incredible £2,099, and it offers all the same, if not better, equipment and features. If you choose to go with the Pro Series Kit over another leading brand, the money saved could buy you a car... it really is that big of a price gap. The Strike Zone is even cheaper, priced at £1,699.
Although the Strike Pro and Strike Zone kits are great products, there's always room for improvement when it comes to studio set ups.
Headphones are crucial for an electronic drum kit set up and there's nothing worse than listening to great music on an old pair of crackly headphones, especially if you're trying to produce some of your own.
This is where Marshall has comes in, I recommend Marshall's Monitor Headphones in Black. The headphones are crafted with a lightweight design that fit comfortably over the ears, which means they don't start to ache your ears after a couple of hours. They of course also sound incredible. They feature a felt treble filter system, this provides the headphones with studio quality sound and gives you complete control over what you hear.
Ready to take your drumming game to the next level and build the ultimate drum studio set up? Then you're in luck because here at DrumShopUK we're one of a limited number of stores in the UK that are currently able to sell the kits.
