TAMA is a brand of drums and hardware, developed and manufactured in Japan, China and the USA. TAMA, then named Star Drums, first entered the American market as a low-cost drum brand competing against more expensive brands, like Rogers and Ludwig. By 1974, Hoschino (TAMAs founder and creator) started to develop high quality drums and hardware, which led to TAMAs success today.
