Tough as Iron, fair as a Maiden, Paiste Cymbals brings you the Limited Edition Treasure Cymbals; a collaborative set of cymbals created with drumming royalty Michael Henry 'Nicko' McBrain of metal band Iron Maiden.
Inspired by a strong Mayan theme reminiscent of Iron Maiden's 'The Book of Souls' touring stage set, Paiste and Nicko worked tirelessly to create an exceptionally rare and unique cymbal set. This cymbal box set is so rare in fact, that production is limited worldwide, so if you want a piece of history you best act fast as there are only 83 crated sets available worldwide! Each box set comes complete in a custom made wooden crate; a piece of art in it's own right featuring a laser engraved bronze plaque and descriptive etched artistry branded all over the box. The crate is as much a part of the box set as the cymbals are a perfect place to keep your pieces of eight or should we say your treasure cymbals!
Handmade in Switzerland using traditional methods, which have not been changed in over half a century, these traditional methods were used to create Signature, RUDE and Formula 602 cymbals. This impeccable attention to detail and utter craftsmanship is reflective of the calibre of drumming artist Nicko McBrain is.
Tremendously technical and a forward thinker in the drumming world, Nicko has been an influence to many over his career and is nowhere near stopping now. A unique style which has grown ever strong since joining heavy metal band Iron Maiden in 1983, the sound and weight of these cymbals reflect Nicko's personal playing style, powerful, punchy and perfectly metal! Custom made silk screens were created in order to achieve the distinctive Mayan themed design. The artistry that is screen printed by hand onto the cymbals are all reflections of Nicko himself, the date of his first session with Iron Maiden is branded on the cymbal in Mayan Calendar Glyphs and of course the iconic Iron Maiden style typography is reflected in the Paiste logo.
A prominent set of cymbals included in the Treasure Cymbals Box Set is the Signature Reflector Series with ten of the twelve cymbals being from this series. The Signature Series are intensely traditional and have a classic tone and quality metal drummers are drawn to. Originally produced in the 1980's Nicko and this cymbal series go way back and the familiarity they have with each other is part of the reason they are included within his cymbal line up! Originally created with cooled bronze alloys resulting in wide frequency created from a dark tone. An evenly soft sound capable of incredible depth and intensity is achievable alongside a bell character more separated than a traditional cymbal yet with undeniably control.
The 12 strong cymbal box set are just the tip of the iceberg, also included is signed memorabilia from Nicko himself. A signed CD and Vinyl of The Book of Souls album from the drummer himself is also included alongside a Certificate of Authenticity and signed Signature Drumsticks. All this in one box set is practically unheard of, never before have you been able to hold so much treasure in one box! A true collaboration between Nicko and his Paiste family!
