Percussion instructor and shop owner Herb Brochestein founded Promark back in 1957, in Houston, Texas where it's still based today! Since it's first years, Promark has became a widely known stick company, being the first company to introduce Japanese Shira-Kashi white oak into the American market, successfully becoming the only company to market oak sticks in the United States, and, in 2011, they became part of D'Addario. More recently, they have chosen to use non-endangered wood and a "green" finishing process, this makes their sticks and manufacturing process safer to each of their players and to the environment!
The Rebound ActiveGrip series from Promark marks the making of the worlds first heat activated drumstick! Daddario's ActiveGrip technology responds to your body temperature to sustain the control you need, when you need it, by making the sticks tackier when you start to sweat! Made from high quality hickory wood, the Rebound drumsticks offer resilience, responsiveness and durability, making them the most popular choice of wood for that classic feel. The rebound series features a custom 3" 'Rebound Taper' which shifts the balance towards the back of the stick for a lighter hit, creating a feel that is perfect for jazz, funk and gospel. The acorn wood tip provides a larger surface area that hits the drum, increasing the responsiveness and articulation.
