TreeWorks 44 Bar Studio Chime

TreeWorks Chimes are dedicated to percussion, in particular chimes. A brand which was created out of the pure frustration of choice for high quality chimes and in 1996 TreeWorks made their start in the percussion industry, with the aim of creating the finest chime that can be made. 

Three main components make up TreeWorks Chimes; the cord, the mantle and the bars. Each piece of the chime is as important as the last and together they make the distinctive, high quality sound littered with a crisp, cutting quality. The cord provides extra strength and is certainly favoured over cheap, plastic chime ties which inevitably break! A special blend of fibres is used to create a substantial amount of strength, the fibres are hand braided and individually hand tied to each bar ensuring the bar's secure and sealed in place. The mantle is created using the Tennessee hardwood, Black Walnut. The Black Walnut is put through a steaming process which intensifies the colour and strength, they are then cut and drilled repeatedly before the final oil is applied by hand to lock in the hardwood goodness! Finally the bars are created using a custom mill run aluminium/titanium composite. The alloy is tempered to gain a consistent structure and to create the crisp chime sound, precision polishing is done next to minimise any friction against the chime cord.

As you have read, every part of the chime making process is meticulously managed and with many processes being completed by hand, there really is an essence of quality and scrupulous detail. The TreeWorks Full Size Studio Chime features 44 Bars over one row which each have a diameter of 0.25". An ideal chime for studio settings or for acoustic performances, where clear resonance is appreciated and where you are looking for a subtle, distinct sound which is less hard-hitting than say, a cymbal.
