Description
Ludwig Jazz Festival Snare in Mod Orange
Ludwig Drums is a US manufacturer of percussion instruments, established in 1909 by William F. & Theobald Ludwig, sons of a German immigrant to the United States. William Jr. had been a professional drummer, playing with circuses and touring vaudeville shows, he and his brother, Theobald, opened a drum shop in Chicago; they called it Ludwig & Ludwig. The brand achieved significant popularity in the 1960s due to the endorsement of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr.
Known for having the most extensive catalog of collectible drums, Ludwig's Jazz Fest snare is a "big fish" on that long list. First introduced to the market in the 1950s as the Buddy Rich Model Snare drum, Ludwig's Jazz Fest series took on its first form in the early 1960s as a 5.5" depth snare. This version of the Jazz Fest would come to join the iconic line-up of tracks that Ludwig snares drums dominate. It features a 3-ply Legacy Mahogany shell, vintage ‘64 snare bed, 8 twin lugs, 3-step baseball bat tone-control and a white “Reso-Coat” interior.
