Ludwig introduce the Raw Brass Phonic Series of snare drums and as they describe them "they are a new step in an old direction" and we couldn't agree more! The 1.2mm un-plated seamless brass drum shell pays homage to all that's beautiful about the natural brass shell, what is more the shells don't receive a sealer coat so the shell finish has a natural patina that will oxidize even more as time passes and in turn become even more striking. The beauty with this process is it means virtually no two drums are the same, they will oxidise at different rates meaning the finish is truly unique.
When it comes to sound the brass shell produces a dry yet crisp response that is bursting with sensitivity. Notable features include features the signature Ludwig Keystone badge, imperial lugs, 2.3mm steel triple flange hoops and a sensitive P88 throw off.
