Born in Vancouver, Canada, Jeff Wood began hand-crafting his own custom ply snare drums from his own home. It initially began as a bit of fun, however Jeff's drums began gaining significant attention drummers all across the globe, who were impressed by the immense quality of his products. Wood's particularises in traditional 3 ply shells, however adding his own spin with changes in the construction process and the use of higher-quality materials.
This particular snare is made from a hybrid of cherry and poplar wood. The highs looked after by the cherry ,the lows dealt with by the polar, creating an amazing all round tone. The shell contains 6 ply reinforcement rings with natural recision/George Way throw/Dunnett Butt with 42 strand snare wires. This snare also contains beautifully chromed tubed lugs, keeping it in tune. If you're still not convinced, the gorgeous Red Oil and Wax Finish looks incredible under stage lights.
