The Maple and Walnut hybrid shell ensures you can place this acoustic drum kit in a range of settings and it will perform time after time. Hybrid shells ensure the very best from each shell is harnessed to create an improved sound overall. The Maple Walnut composite is dynamic and produces a warm, all purpose sound that is strong overall. Strong attack and rich tones paired with equal amounts of mid-high tones with warm, definitive lows, creates the classic Saturn sound.
All of the of the drums from the Saturn V series are wrapped to protect from wear and tear, allowing the finish to retain it's beauty for years to come. SONIClear™ technology has been added to the Mapex Saturn kits and they sound all the better for it! SONIClear™ bearing edges and a SONIClear™ Tom Holder are now as standard within the Saturn V series, to start with the bearing edges make the tuning process a hell of a lot easier as well as boosting the tone and tuning range. Increased contact between the edge and head of the drum, allows for a more distinct sound that is fuller and more well rounded than ever before. The Tom Holder gives you the opportunity to add an extra tom should you wish as well as bass drum spurs and claw hooks, which ensure the hoop is protected from damage during longer drumming sessions.
