Poplar is a widely used shell material for drums. Being softer than other hardwoods like maple, beech or birch, it offers more mid to low frequencies with a softer attack. The SONOR cast lug, used on all of the AQ-Series drums, was engineered in Germany with close attention to functionality, durability and design. It is assembed using multiple components and includes SONOR's TuneSafe system to prevent detunIng of the drums.
