Istanbul Mehmet bring you the Tony Williams Tribute series of cymbals which are beautifully restored replicas of the real thing, that's right Tony's actual cymbals were hand delivered to Istanbul Mehmet's headquarters in Turkey by his wife Colleen and have been lovingly and meticulously analysed in order to create the most truthful representation of these cymbals. And who better to take on this task than the masters of cymbal forgery themselves, Istanbul Mehmet.

Tony Williams was a legendary musician and drummer who was dubbed a 'wonderkid' as he shot to fame with the Miles Davis Quintet at the tender age of just 17 years old. Today that doesn't seem all that young for someone to find stardom, but rewind back 50+ years to 1962 and rapid fame and stardom at the age of 17 was something relatively unheard of to the majority of people. The Tony Williams Tribute Range and in turn the Istanbul Mehmet 18" Tony Williams Tribute Crash has been created with undisputed longevity in mind. With a B20 bronze base and hand hammered to perfection, every detail has been considered. This range of cymbals is as close to the real thing as you will ever get. Tony's wife, Colleen lovingly carried these cymbals all the way to Turkey, where the genius team that is Istanbul Mehmet, meticulously weighed, measured and recorded every detail. The ride cymbal itself bares the scars of a lifetime of drumming, this has been replicated flawlessly in the Tony Williams Tribute series. It has been drilled out in several places, this has been done to stop the spread of cracks. A cymbal that against all odds has been through the drumming mill several times over and still retains that special something that makes the sound so addictive. It delivers a unique fusion of dry, clean stick sound whilst also maintaining complex, dark, almost orchestral overtones.

This is one of very few cymbals you will ever come across that sounds near as damn it to the actual cymbal, a cymbal which was the height of cool over 50 years ago! Istanbul Mehmet have replicated this cymbal down to the very last flaw, these flaws, nicks, wear and tear are what made Tony William's ride cymbal so special then and what will continue to make the sound special for years to come within your set up.
