Oozing with history…Mikael Zilcan, also spelled Zildjian, is the grandson of Kerope Zilcan, who inspired the legendary K Zildjian series name. Mikael was trained by his grandfather in the art of cymbal making and continued to teach the techniques that have been used in Turkey for over 800 years. At the K Zildjian factory in Turkey, Mikael had an apprentice named Mehmet Tamdeger.

The Mehmet Mikael Z Tribute Rides have been crafted using traditional Turkish techniques, similar to how the legendary Jazz cymbals of the 1970s were produced. These special cymbals have been created as a dedication to Mehmet's esteemed Master, Mikael Zilcan. Mikael was a inspiration to Mehmet when he was young and he taught him the true art of cymbal-making. The Mikael Z Tribute ride brings you a mellow tone and great stick definition.
