New for 2017, Pro-Mark introduce a new style of drumsticks that hit harder, play longer and are quite honestly on fire! Each and every FireGrain drumstick is put through a heat-tempering process which turns ordinary hickory sticks into FireGrain sticks. The intense firing process alters the structure and properties of the hickory by reducing moisture held within the hardwood and an overall hardening of the core. This alters the hickory so much so for an improved playing experience that is louder, harder and faster! Resilience is improved as well as responsiveness and durability all as a result of the FireGrain process.
A hickory base provides extra rebound and durability whilst delivering that classic feel we know and love, the oval wood tips typically produce a large and diverse range of sound, whilst it's wooden base provides a full, warm and dark range of sound. The 5B sized drumsticks have a medium thickness that isn't as thick as 2B drumsticks, but not as thin as 7A drumsticks, ideal for marching and concert band use the 5B is a classic size that most drummers have in their drumming essentials because it is an all purpose stick that is middle of the road when it comes to size. These Pro-Mark drumsticks are incredibly durable with a medium weight and this is even before the FireGrain heat tempering has taken place, so can you imagine the durability that is pouring out of these drumsticks once the heat tempering process has been applied. One incredibly attractive quality of these drumsticks is that although they've been heat-tempered, all of the original qualities that make Pro-Mark so desirable are retained even after the heat-tempering.
